Direct Air’s Area Sales Manager, Tim McGill, visited the Jam Factory to understand Single Variety’s requirements in more detail. After discussing specifications with the jam team, Tim identified that a Champion FM11 Air Station, mounted with a refrigerant dryer and receiver would best fit their requirements. The FM11 is an upsize from the FM04 compressor that was previously in place to power their first jam filling line. Single Variety were happy with the performance of their previous Champion compressor and therefore stuck with this brand.
Increasing the compressed air capacity through upsizing the compressor itself means that not only will the FM11 be powering Single Variety’s new production line, but it will also continue to supply air to the existing filling line. This will allow Single Variety to run the two filling lines simultaneously.
Within the jam filling lines that the compressed air powers in Single Variety’s factory, the applications include the automatic depositors and the capping machine. Alongside this, the compressor powers the labelling machine in the warehouse.
To ensure the new machine keeps running on top form for the jam product process, our engineers at Direct Air will continue to service and maintain the compressor in line with manufacturer recommendations.
