Exploring the Warehouse with the Stores Staff…
After spending time in the workshop area with the Pipework Engineers, Lottie ventures across the ground floor of Direct Air’s Coventry site to the main warehouse with our Storemen and drivers – Dean Coles, Dave Acton and Bryan Martin.
Here on the left we can see Lottie with one of our smaller pieces of equipment in the warehouse at the moment, and in the background, just a snapshot of the wide range of stock we hold consistently – yet another unique factor of Direct Air’s capabilities! When it comes to maneuvering the larger pieces of equipment from delivery at the front shutters to the stock shelves and visa versa, the Storemen need the appropriate machinery to transport them. This means our Stores guys have the licenses to operate forklifts, flatbeds, etc. just like Lottie’s doing in the photo below.
Although they make up large portion of the warehouse, these compressors, receivers and downstream products aren’t the full extent of the stock, we also hold much smaller but equally as essential parts. Here in the above right image we can see Lottie perched on some boxed products, which our Storemen organise and distribute to each engineer accordingly. This is a vital task, as without this sorting process the engineers wouldn’t be equipped with the parts to complete work.
Once the parts are packaged up and on the correct engineers shelf, they’re then ready to be moved by the Service Engineers to their Direct Air vans – read #LottieTour day 4 blog to see what happens when it’s time for the Service Engineers to do their part!
